REGENTS EXAMINATION | NY REGENTS TUTORING

Regents examinations are standardized examinations  conducted in New York State. They are required in high schools for a Regents diploma to graduate. They are usually optional and are required for disabled students. In order to gain a Regents diploma, students are required to earn credits in specific subjects in yearly courses after which Regents examination needs to be passed in many subjects.
These exams are prepared by the guidance of selected New York teachers of specific discipline under the New York State Education Department (NYSED). These tests are prepared prior three years the test date. Regents examinations are were first administered in 1866 to improve the standard of the curriculum in secondary schools of New York.
After entering 9th grade in September 2008 and thereafter, local diplomas are only offered to disabled students, whereas other students should have a Regents diploma. In order to achieve a Regents diploma, students must score 65 or higher in Regents exam. Students with disabilities are required to achieve a score of 45 or above out of 100 in a state Regents exam. Many students opt for NY Regentstutoring to accomplish the required goal. These services prepare the students well for the tests in various disciplines and make them achieve their desired goal. Regents diploma examinations include five subjects viz. If someone wishes to have a Regents diploma with advanced designation, one needs to pass three math exams and two science exams along with the subjects mentioned above with a score of 65 or better.
Some public schools allow their students to graduate from high school without having a Regents diploma. The alternative involves reviewing and assessing the best work done by the student at the school in various subjects and then the student is handed over the Regents equivalency grade as well as the diploma in areas of math, science, history, and English. Many advanced placement exams and exams such as SAT, are allowed by NYSED as an alternative for Regents examination.
